Look @ Me Now
What can I say? This project was basically, well, all about me! We started just by learning a little bit about ourselves and what we like to do. Though we didn't just stop there, we went even deeper into our lives to see some of the problems and advantages that we have in our lives. Some of this included describing important people in our lives, looking at how we like to live our lives and some important items in our lives.
From there. we took all of these ideas and related them to literary devices such as Theme, Symbolism and Conflict. For example, if I have a picture on my desk of my family I could relate that to Symbolism. Because that picture, that object, represents something more than it's material value could ever hold. Another example of how we relate our lives to literary devices is with devices such as Protagonist. This basically would tell who we believe is the Protagonist in our own lives, whether it may be a parental figure, or a friend or maybe even a teacher. I would say that it was when we were relating these things that was the most enjoyable part of the project. Just seeing and learning how our lives could be written out in words, with proper story elements included. And I believe that it was this part that I worked hardest on, because it was what I learned most of. To me this project was great, and there wasn't really anything to complain about.

My board shows several pictures of me and my friends and family. Even a funny picture of my brother. Although even though I worked hardest on all of the descriptions and devices, and carefully chose all of my photos and made sure they fit I don't think any of those are my favorite parts of my board.
I think what stands out to me personally is the title. I took this title from a song I've known for awhile. "All We Have Is Now" by The Flaming Lips is a song about a man who knows that he and his lover will not be able to be together in the future. So he simply tells her that "all we have, is now". Which I took this phrase and realized that you're only going to be in one place, all your life. You are not going to be in the future, or the past. Because all you, and I, and everybody else have is now. |
